FRIENDS OF KAPAR is currently and actively planning to do an Opening & Launching of the FRIENDS OF KAPAR Community Nurture Centre. Unlike other openings & launches - this will be done by our Sponsors, Donors & Supporters. These are the people who had stood behind us, held our hands and lend a shoulder to cry on when the goings gets tough. The launch is a tribute to them for their belief in us. The sacred day - is set to be on Saturday, 5th June 2010 around 2:30pm. Watch this space for more details on the launch...

The School Holidays are approaching (hooray!). The CNC remains open as usual. On Tuesday & Wednesday of the School Holidays, the Kapar Kidz will be doing plenty of Art & Crafts and other fun activities. In the pipeline will be storytelling, sing along, percussions etc. Anyone who wants to help out are welcome, that'll give the Tutors a much needed break.

FRIENDS OF KAPAR started its Feeding Programme in April 2009. It started with only one settlement of about 7 families. Now, the Feeding Programme has expanded its web of assistance to as far as Kuala Selangor and Subang Jaya. An initial list of 7 Families has grown to 35 Families. Along the way, we have fed 45 Families of whom some were taken off the List as they become financially independent. FRIENDS OF KAPAR does not only feed families under its Grocery Bag Project, we also supply oats, milk powder, supplements and bread to 7 senior citizens under the Sustenance for Seniors Project. On top of that, under the Diaper Project, we are assisting 4 other people. FRIENDS OF KAPAR also has a Tuition Centre giving out free tuition to 134 underprivileged children. Looks like FRIENDS OF KAPAR too has grown and spread its wings

Featured Posts: A Very Big Thank You from the Children of Kapar
From the children of Kapar to those who made it possible for them to attend tuition classes : "THANK YOU! NANDRI! TERIMA KASIH! The start-up cost for the tuition centre came to about RM4,000, while the operating cost is expected to be RM1,500 per month. This is funded through the generosity of our donors - Li San, Wai Fun, Selina and Donny, G2, Hajjah Ainie and family, Chern & family, Vivian, LYN & friends, Shad, Julynda, Shir Leen, Kim Ean, Kim & Lew. And also our Volunteer Tutors and centre administrators, Mageson and his wife Elizabeth. We would also like to give the Tutors some allowances. Since they are doing this voluntarily, we thought that we should at least pay for their transportation cost. The amount very much depends on funds availability. If you would like to donate to this, please contact Ainie or Kim.
